FORTY-THREE YEARS OF PORTLAND CONCRETE

John M. Russell Construction has been pouring concrete in Portland since 1983.

Council Crest. Macleay. Dunthorpe. Fairmount. Belmont. Skidmore. Cesar Chavez. Sauvie Island. Four decades of work spread across the west hills, the east side and the neighborhoods in between — much of it for the architects and builders who keep calling back.

More than 95% of our clients are returning customers. In a trade where most work is won on price, that number is the one worth paying attention to.

WORKING WITH ARCHITECTS AND BUILDERS

A lot of our Portland work comes through architects and general contractors, and that shapes how we work. Drawings that push what concrete can do. Board-formed walls where the form pattern is the finished surface. Structures where the concrete has to be right the first time because nothing is going over it.

John started as a laborer and worked up to superintendent before starting this company in 1983. He problem-solves for a living. When a detail doesn't work the way it was drawn, the useful thing is a contractor who says so early and offers a way through it.
